The Project

ENTER ZEEP is an ongoing, incredibly ambitious, multimedia project, straight from the mind of Nolan Cross, an independent Canadian writer and aspiring filmmaker.

The story of ZEEP is divided into twelve volumes, two of which have been made into graphic novels and are available here for purchase. The rest of the story will be released as an all-encompassing book, complete with colour plates.

The Saga takes place in the parallel world known as Zeep, where detailed, complex, and wacky characters come together to form the narrative. ZEEP will take you to Hell and back – at times literally – on an incredible journey of violence, the tortured human psyche, memory, redemption, and above all, Good and Evil, all in a vastly and rapidly changing divided world. ZEEP is about everything fantastical, deranged, and philosophical at its very core, and will take you on a bizarre quest that you have never before seen.

The defining features, described by the creator:

• ZEEP blends all genres. Epic fantasy, strange dark comedy, gut-wrenching horror, cosmic science fiction, mystery thriller, all-too human melodrama, high adventure, and fiery war are all moulded together to create something truly unique.
• ZEEP shows the perspective of its heroes and villains in equal measure. Characters will appear in one chapter, and return two volumes later. Everything has hidden details. Re-reading is encouraged.
• Overall, ZEEP is not for the faint of heart…which is exactly the point. Throughout everything, sticking with the tale and enduring the darkness is all necessary to see the light at the end of the journey.
• Surreal and incredible visuals! Every location in Zeep has a clear and defining aesthetic, and vibrant colour will become a larger feature as we go on.
• The modern and the medieval are at one in this world in many unexpected ways. Swords and lances alongside guns and tanks, skyscrapers behind castle walls. Cars and elevators alongside fearsome beasts and endless caverns.
• And, above all else, layered characters and riveting, often delightfully weird dialogue. No character is as they seem, and factions of all kinds soon burst into the fray from every corner of Zeep, as the ultimate, universe-traversing battle is set!

The primary vision for ZEEP is that it gets picked up as a film, or limited series. Everything in the world is imagined as cinematic, and in these days with a draught of original content, we hope ZEEP stands as a new and exciting creation.
